Merrittville Speedway Media Release 1-27-19

THOROLD, ONTARIO (January 27, 2019) … The 2019 season is officially underway after the registration meeting at the John Michaels Banquet and Conference Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The tentative schedule was released and drivers had the opportunity to register for the season and pick up memberships and season passes.

The Spring Sizzler is scheduled for Saturday, April 20. The Southern Ontario Sprints, 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, and 4 Cylinders will be on the card. The complete schedule is being finalized and will be released in the coming weeks.

Meeting goers were introduced to Patrick Quinn of RaceMed. RaceMed will be the Official Medical Team provider of Merrittville Speedway. “We look forward to working with everyone at Merrittville and getting to know all the drivers throughout the season and provide them with the best care possible for them and their equipment”, commented Patrick Quinn. Every race night at Merrittville, there will be a fully-equipped safety truck and a fast response team to assist the situation on the track. A fire truck will also be on site with a fire suppression system along with the Jaws of Life. A new First Aid station will be constructed on the grandstand side to assist fans as well serves as the care center for those in the pit area.

Merrittville Speedway will once again be having a car show at the Pen Centre Mall over March break during mall hours. Drivers interested in being in the car show can contact Don Spiece at (905) 708-5534. Fans interested in purchasing grandstand season passes can also contact Don Spiece.
