Floyd Wallace, driver of the pace car at Oswego Speedway from 1952 through 1995, passed away in December 2006. The following obituary appeared in the 'Oswego Valley News':

Floyd C. Wallace, Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame member

Floyd C. Wallace, 86, formerly of Lyon Street, Fulton, died Dec. 18, 2006 at Andrew Michaud Nursing Home, Fulton.

He was born in Oswego and he has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life. He retired from Nestles Co., Fulton after 42 years of service.

Mr. Wallace was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Sheriff's Benevolent Association, and a former founding member of the local Corvette Club.

He drove the pace car at Oswego Speedway and was inducted into the Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame.

Surviving are his children, Floyd W. (Carol) Wallace of Fulton, Sharon Wallace-Kerfien of Fulton, Joseph (Jean) Wallace of Rochester, and Gary (Renae) Wallace of Fulton; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Sugar Funeral Home, Fulton and at Holy Family Church where a mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Robert Stephenson. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetary, Fulton.
