The running of the 500 brings back to mind the day I shook the hand of the legendary Dale Sr. along with many great memories overshadowed by one tragic event.
I am also reminded and saddened by the loss of the original Man In Black, Johnny Cash.
Both fine heroes in the eyes of a youngster anywhere, anytime.

I never meet Dale Sr. But about 8 years ago i saw him when they were at the Glen. He was walking along and all the grown men were trying to get his autograph and the only one i saw him give was to a little boy about 5 years old. i thought that was kind of nice of him. He was a great man and a great racer to many.
